Art is the pursuit of excellence made visible.

I have been in love with mythology since I was a child, with its gods, monsters and impossible worlds. Over time I grew closer to my imaginary side, and today my work begins where sleep does: I draw my inspiration from my dreams and my nightmares, and I paint what I find there.

The name Arete comes from the ancient Greek idea of excellence: becoming the fullest version of what you are. In Painting Life: A Self Portrait, the collection turns that idea inward. Each canvas is a mirror held up to a different chapter, painted honestly, with nothing hidden.
